See my blog post, Hollyburn Snowshoeing 2008.
Photos like these almost make me weep. Check out this view of Bowen Island from a similar vantage point the next day.
Unlike a couple weeks before, we couldn't see a damn thing. On this day, like my trip up a year earlier, I could see most of the Lower Mainland. Makes that last steep bit (which I lost my grip on and slid down twice before taking this photo) worth it.
gorgeous - the trees look like they've been sprayed with foam! the Hollybirdie story is funny too (unless it left you ravenously hungry of course ;-)
Thanks Jess! I had plenty of food after the sammich caper, and the piece the bird stole was small. Still, clever little thing, getting me all excited to take its picture then swooping in for the the meal.
Wow! Wish I was there...
I think it's safe to say it's been a good snow season this year. Just came back from snowshoeing on Seymour and the weather was pretty good (not absolutely perfect, but still lots of people on the hill). If I ever get my skiing legs back, I'll definitely try Cypress.
