Shaun of the Dead DVD

January 1, 2005

Watched Shaun of the Dead for the second time, this time on DVD.

Really funny the second time around, because I was able to hear the jokes better and the accents were clearer. (When I saw it at the theatre, some of the asides were drowned out by the laughter.) I loved the sequence when Shaun woke up after most of the damage had been done, without his knowledge, and he did his morning routine oblivious to the carnage around him. This is one English-language movie that I might end up watching for the subtitles one day, because some jokes were still masked by the accents. The deleted scenes aren't so much deleted scenes but scenes with an extra few seconds of hilarity in each. It's a shame they were cut.
