Couple
I was sitting down on the benches, watching two girls dancing, one teaching the other the steps. One of the girls then asked a guy who was hanging about if he could help the girl, that is, dance with her while doing the guy's steps. The girl in this photo saw me looking at them, and explained to me that they take over the Kitsilano Showboat stage, play swing music and dance. Evidently they're not allowed to do this, as they asked to be able to pay rent but were refused. There's evidently a backstory that's complicated and that I didn't feel the need for her to get into. She was sitting by herself reading a book at the time, so before she and I talked, I thought she "just" came to the beach to read.
