As an asian woman, I have to say that you are absolutely disgusting. I want to show every asian friend of mine your blog so that they know to stay the hell away from guys like you. You're like a predator, and no woman wants to attract a man based on her race. She will always wonder if you will leave her for the next sexy asian girl you see, because, obviously, you pay so much attention to that factor. If mystery is your excuse for this fucked up minset of yours, why not date African women? Or Latina's? They are all different from most Caucasians and hold a certain amount of intrigue, don't they? Also, I can only imagine how embarrassing your behavior is for your girlfriends. The first thing your friends must think when they meet her is 'another asian girl'. She is being judged before she gets a chance to show off her personality and assert her herself as an individual. I really hope guys like you drop dead. If what you say is true, that you only want to find a girl who shares your interests and laughs at your jokes, you better start opening your mind and dating other girls who are not asian, because otherwise you are the worst kind of racist - the hypocritical kind.
No return address on this one, so we'll bring this conversation out into the public. I can respond just fine, but instead I'll just point out that on multiple occasions she seems not to have even read what I wrote, since I made pains to avoid giving the impression she has of me.
A few minutes pass, and my lovely girlfriend, sitting next to me, responds at length.

Oh, here we go again. Another white guy with an asian fetish trying to justify it. Before I continue, let me say that I am white and married to a Chinese woman. We met nearly 10 years ago in high school and could best be described as high school sweethearts. I did not begin dating her because she was asian. I did not marry her because she was asian.
So, admittedly, you like asian girls for their "slanty" eyes and darker skin. How wonderful! How deep!

I see you at the mall with your other white buddy. You both have asian arm candy with you, but I can never tell if you're dating her or just babysitting. I see you at Chinese restaurants with your newest conquest, trying to impress her with your vast knowledge of Chinese culture. Bonus points if you know how to get the teapot refilled.

I see guys like that all the time too, but I'm not one of 'em: I've never hit on all the Asian girls who are five years my junior at the gym. (I'm pretty sure I've never hit on *any* girl at the gym. In fact, I can only recall hitting on maybe one Asian girl, at a tie shop. Besides, I really did need a tie.) If my girlfiend believed I thought she was my arm candy, she wouldn't be dating me. I don't try to impress her with my vast knowledge of Chinese culture at Chinese restaurants (in fact, my girlfriend had to whisper in my ear when I met her parents for dinner, since I wasn't pouring tea for others when pouring for myself). I'll take your bonus points for knowing how to get the teapot refilled, but it took me a few times to realize what was happening when Chinese people were doing it.
I give you credit for having actually read the article, much unlike a lot of others who commented on it. You'll note, though, that I when writing the word "slanty", I distanced myself from it: hence the phrase "I could use a lot of words to describe it". I included it among others because those are the words other people use. Another word I still hear people but didn't include when I wrote article is 'oriental', which also feels wrong.
I know this is an old topic, but don't let this stuff go to your head. I think asian women are incredibly attractive. I mean incredibly! Not all of them, not if they open thier mouths and uglyness comes out. Just like all people the attraction can only be a starting point.
I have never had the luck of dating an asian woman, oddly enough. I just love thier skin tone, almond eyes, smiles etc... They are just put together very well. I know I am not a racist and of course like I said not all asian women are beautiful, but it adds to the package for me.
If a person cant handle being considered beautiful because of their race...then the problem is not the people that find them beautiful. It is the person themselves. If someone told me that they think white men are just really sexy, I would smile at them.
Had to pitch in my 2 cents about all this. Your article was harmless, I think the people who responded have some real issues they need to deal with. Perhaps self-love ehh hemmm...
