After suffering through some sluggishness, Just a Gwai Lo should be a little faster now that I've applied a patch that improves path alias performance in Drupal 4.6. This improvement is already part of 4.7, but I'm putting off upgrading until all the modules—including the custom modules I wrote—are all updated at least iin CVS.

Another note, with regards to Watching China: for now it syndicates my del.icio.us bookmarks tagged with 'china'. Those links used to appear on the sidebar, but now they've been given more prominence. And comments! (The links also appear in the 'china' tag on Just a Gwai Lo, so, well, now you have two places to comment on my bookmarks. I used to push all writing tagged on this site with 'china' over to Watching China, and the implementation wasn't great, so back to the drawing board on that front.) The site, which currently runs with the Box Grey theme, needs redesign of some sort, badly, the obvious colour scheme being yellow and red, possibly with a hint of dark blue. Not to make any political statement—though the effect would be political—but just to fuck with people's minds a little.

I even updated my Beijing Olympics 2008 aggregator to include Flickr photos tagged with both 'olympics' and 'beijing'. (I'm looking for weblogs that cover just the upcoming Games, by the way, that have RSS, I'd be interested in knowing about it and including it in the aggregator.
