The following is one of those memes that I pretend to ignore. I stand by what I wrote below as an accurate indication of how I felt at the time, but forget when exactly that was. I've reversed my position on alcohol, marriage, but I was right about Bush, and I don't think about religion, so my opinion on it is pointless.
| Abortion?: | Against it in all cases except for the health of the mother. It is always the woman's choice, however. |
| Death Penalty?: | Against, but not on moral grounds. I'm against it on the grounds that it eliminates the best evidence for the guilt or innocence of the criminal, and that in cases of terrorism encourages martyrdom (i.e. another day on which terrorists, foreign and domestic, have to "celebrate"), |
| Prostitution?: | Sex between consenting adults should be legal. |
| Alcohol?: | Against. Should be regulated like marijuana is currently. |
| Marijuana?: | For, in principle. Should be regulated like alcohol is currently. |
| Other drugs?: | Not sure. Depends on the drug. |
| Gay marriage?: | I'm increasinly against marriage, gay or straight. Right now, I support legalizing gay marriages and the benefits that come with it, but as long as gay couples understand the costs as marriage as well. |
| Illegal immigrants?: | Open the borders up to all immigrants free of criminal records. No-one who supports true free trade can be against free immigration as well. |
| Smoking?: | Should be banned in public places, allowed outdoors. Current anti-smoking campaigns have so far failed to recognize that smoking isn't cool, but rather cool people smoke. |
| Drunk driving?: | All driving while intoxicated (drunk and/or high) should be illegal and means the permanent loss of one's driver's licence. |
| Cloning?: | Not sure. |
| Racism?: | The best way to combat it, like so many other things, is through peer pressure. Also, for many cases, if you ignore it, it goes away. |
| Premarital sex?: | For, but not required. |
| Religion?: | Stupid. No policy (public or personal) can be justified in terms of deities that don't exist. (Part of the larger issue of partisanship, which is adherence to something or someone despite evidence to the contrary or for no other reason than that's always been the basis for a policy.) |
| The war in Iraq?: | Support and supported. I'm glad Saddam Hussein is no longer in charge and while the region is volatile, it always has been, and is less so now that Saddam is gone. |
| Bush?: | Current President of the United States, and those opposed to Bush need to prepare themselves psychologically for a Bush win in 2004. |
| Downloading music?: | For, because the single (and radio) is dead. |
| The legal drinking age?: | Alcohol should be illegal. |
| Porn?: | If I had a girlfriend I'd be against it, but hey, here we are. |
| Suicide?: | Suprisingly virus-like. |
