Karl is talking about a translation of his text into Chinese. His permission is not required, because he licenses his text under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license. I had a grand scheme last year to both read his text into an MP3, using the original French (I used to be fluent, but have fallen out of practice, and I can read the language far better than I can write or speak), and translate one or a few of his posts into English. That may seem a little silly, since he is perfectly capable of writing in English, but rarely does, and finds his posts being in French unproblematic, to which I've agreed. A translation is still on the agenda, but it will wait until I choose a Creative Commons under which to license Just a Gwai Lo and my other weblog.
