It Sometimes Can't See

Ryan, in an article that is worth reading in full: “the blogosphere has such anti-media bent that it sometimes can't see anything but journalism gone wrong. Even when it's not there.”

He elaborates: “bloggers are continuing to chip away at their credibility as media critics. I've said it before, and I'll say it again here: There are many, many legitimate criticisms to be made of modern mainstream media. The blogosphere is an important -- if not the most important -- vehicle for airing these. But when bloggers keep making accusations that are factually inaccurate, how are we supposed to know when they're making legitimate ones?” [bold, italics and links in original]

With blogging, misinformation spreads faster.
